A 3 hour hands on course including preparing espresso, milk texturing and machine maintenance. Completing this will enable you to perform the tasks and duties that your commcial counterparts will but without the full examination and certificate.

Accredited Barista Training Course & Safe Food Handling (SITXFSA101 & SITHFAB204)

  • Nationally recognised barista training in agreement with Camden Haven Community College as the Registered Training Organisation (RTO 90018).
  • SITXFSA101 Use Hygienic parctices for food safety
  • This course covers the skills and knowledge required to use personal hygiene practices to prevent contamination of food that may cause food-bourne illnesses. This unit applies to all tourism, hospitality and catering organizations with permanent or temporary kitchen premises or smaller food preparation or bar areas.Training includes:
  • SITHFAB204 Prepare & Serve Espresso Coffee 
  • This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to extract and serve espresso coffee beverages using commercial espresso machines. It requires the ability to advise customers on coffee beverages, select and grind coffee beans, prepare and assess espresso coffee beverages and to use, maintain and clean espresso machines.
  • This 6 Hour Barista & Hygiene experience will give you the qualification and the skills necessary to help you gain employment in the hospitality sector.

  • Follow hygiene procedures & identify food hazards
  • Report any personal health issues
  • Prevent food contamination
  • Prevent cross contamination by washing hands

Advanced Barista Training - Barista Boot Camp

Becoming a Pro Barista is all about quality drinks and speed of service!

This is an advanced coffee training class designed as a follow up to our Nationally Accredited Barista Training.

Barista Boot Camp will refresh the skills you have already learnt and then show you techniquest to quickly deliver multiple orders and improve your speed. This class also includes 30 minutes of Latte Art Techniques.

PRE-REQUISITE = ACCREDITED BARISTA TRAINING

Course outline:

Preparation
  • Workstation set up & seasoning
  • Check shot times & adjust grinders accordingly
  • Check shot volume adjust accordingly
  • 7 drink brush up
  • Working without the thermometer
Grouping & Planning
  • Multiple pouring - 2 at a time
  • Multiple orders - using 3 different milks - dockets up/grouping of drinks
Cafe Situation
  • Speed Test - 7 in 7
  • Latte Art Techniques - free pouring & tools
End of Day
  • Workstation close & clean down
